The Finance Program was established in 2005. It is one of the first programs established by UIC and one of the most popular programs in the Division of Business and Management. The Program aims to cultivate senior professionals in business administration disciplines in the fields of financial investment and financial management. With the advancement of science and technology and the trend of future economic development, the Program will cooperate with the College and the Division of Business and Management regarding resource integration, introduce high-end talents, and carry out teaching and academic research in financial technology and related fields.
Objective
The Program seeks to impart students with basic knowledge and professional abilities in financial management, economics, law, finance and investment, which equip them with capabilities and skills for future work or research in related fields such as investment and financial management. The graduates of the Program will have the advantage to obtain employment in industrial and commercial enterprises, financial enterprises, overseas institutions, and government agencies, either in Hong Kong or mainland China; they may also continue postgraduate studies at home and abroad to further engage in teaching and academic research.
Main Courses
The main courses in the Program include Investment Management, Corporate Finance, Introduction to Futures and Options Markets, Applied Econometrics, Financial Planning, and Investment Analysis, Banking and Credit, Fixed Income Securities, Multinational Finance, Financial Mathematics, Financial Forecasting, Financial Risk Management, Business Valuation, Financial Markets in China. There are also a number of business core courses, including accounting, economics, management, and other disciplines.
