About Dalian Medical University (DMU)
Dalian Medical University (DMU) was founded in 1947 and is the oldest formal medical college in the northeast of China. It was formerly known as Guandong Medical College but was changed to its current name when the People's Republic of China was founded. DMU was formally opened on May 4, 1947, with 203 students.
DMU is a multi-disciplinary medical university and one of the largest medical universities in China. It is also a popular education hub for international students who want to take an MBBS. DMU has more than a thousand overseas students from 82 different countries studying different degree programs.
DMU was one of the first few universities in China that offered the MBBS degree. Its medical degree is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and many medical authorities in foreign countries. DMU is the national demonstration base of international students by the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the first batches of 30 universities that were allowed to offer English-based courses in MBBS, Oral Medicine, Nursing and more. Besides medical degrees, DMU offers programs in other fields like science, engineering, management, arts, law, and philosophy.
Location
DMU is located in the coastal city of Dalian. It is one of the biggest harbor cities in the Northeast China region. Because of Dalian's location, it is considered as one of the centres of international shipping center, logistics center and financial trade in Asia. With its excellent environment and climate, the city of Dalian was awarded as one of the “Best Tourist Cities” in China.
Facilities
DMU has two large campuses both located in Dalian City. It occupies an area of 373 acres with a building area of 94 acres. As a medical institution, it is one of the most modern in all of China. Facilities inside the university include scientific research institutions, teaching bases, state-of-the-art clinical laboratories, a huge library and more.
DMU has three affiliated hospitals which serve the people of Dalian each having over 8700 bed-capacity. These hospitals have medical equipment which is approved by international health standards. Quality of medical care is also world-class. This ensures that DMU students only receive the best training and hands-on experience.
Campus Life
DMU's main campus is located in Lvshunkou District, which is away from downtown Dalian. It is a peaceful and beautiful place where you can walk around and enjoy the greens and weather. DMU has a quiet environment which is conducive for studying and learning. With DMU's rigorous training inside the classroom, the university also places importance on your social life.
The university organizes meetups, coffee talks, excursions, field trips and events among its students. You can also join clubs, organizations, and cultural events and meet new friends. Besides this, DMU has many exchange and cooperation in domestic and abroad which you can join in.

Dalian Medical University has available on-campus apartments for all students. The apartment for international students is located on the main campus. There is also an available building for Degree and Language students on the campus. All rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, desk, chair, equipped bed with bedding, television, bathroom, heater, internet, telephone. The apartments will cost you an estimated 11,000 RMB/YEAR.
If you want to stay off-campus, you may also do so. There are many hostels, hotels, and apartments around the campus. For hostels, the cost ranges from 5300 to 8000 RMB/YEAR depending on your room type. Apartments can cost up to 24000 to 49000 RMB/YEAR. To save, you can share with other students and divide the cost. Lastly, hotels can cost your 12,000 to 22,000 RMB/YEAR depending on your room.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

Preparing documents:
You can start your application now and send the application documents during your application. Some documents you can send later if you don’t have them right away. Some more info about preparing application documents is here
Application process:
Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.
The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.
Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification
After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.
The university may contact you directly for further questions.
We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.
After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.
Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
