About Huaqiao University (HQU)

Huaqiao University (HQU) is one of China's Prioritized Fostered Universities by Chinese Central Government. The Jimei Overseas Chinese Tutoring School in Fujian Province became one with the university in 1997 and was renamed as the Chinese Language and Culture College. HQU has an "Excellent" mark from the Ministry of Education and is part of the construction plan of world-class universities and world-class disciplines in Fujian Province. 

HQU aims to encourage international student enrollment from countries such as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Since it's founding, the university has produced more than 200,000 graduates. HQU has 28 schools, 94 undergrad programs, 2 masters programs, 20 professional masters and 8 doctoral degrees. The university has competent and professional teachers who are active in educating globally competitive graduates. 

Location 

HQU has two campuses. The main campus is located in one of the largest coastal cities in Fujian, Quanzhou. The satellite campus is situated in Xiamen. Both of these locations are popular for their large overseas residents who are vacationing or living in China. 

Facilities

HQU has one of the best facilities among universities in China. It has state-of-the-art buildings, teaching classrooms, laboratories, IT centres, student lounges, and beautiful grounds. You can play sports on their huge gymnasium and fields. If you want to grab a bite, HQU has cafeterias and canteens all over the campus. 

Around HQU, everything you need is accessible. Eateries, restaurants, banks, ATM terminals, clinics, hospitals, post office, malls, parks, grocery stores, book shops and more are all around the campus.

🏠 Accommodation

Huaqiao University has a dormitory for students where you can stay. It is fully furnished with choices of one-bed, two-bed and four-bedrooms to meet different needs. The fees are as follows:

- Single Room: 5800 RMB/YEAR
- Double Room: 3800 RMB/YEAR
- Quadruple Room: 1300 RMB/YEAR

Amenities include air-conditioner, TV, telephone, electric fan, bookshelf, table and chair, and wardrobe. You also get access to a laundry area, public kitchen and internet connection.

Besides HQU's dormitory, the College of Chinese Language and Culture also has another dormitory. The double room will cost you 5600 RMB/YEAR while the quadruple room is at 2400 RMB/YEAR.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
