Yangzhou University (YZU) is co-sponsored by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education, a key comprehensive university of Jiangsu Province, as well as one of the first among colleges and universities authorized to grant master and doctoral degrees, pioneering in China in the merging of higher educational institutions. YZU was established in 1992 as a merger of 6 colleges in Yangzhou, while the history of YZU can be traced back to as early as 1902, when Mr. Zhang Jian, a renowned modern entrepreneur, and educator, set up the Tongzhou Private Teachers’ School and Tonghai Agricultural School.
There are over 33,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 10,000 postgraduate students on YZU campuses, over 1,000 of whom are international students. Among the 2,100 full-time teachers of YZU there are 2 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The 27 colleges offer 116 undergraduate programs. YZU has 14 postdoctoral mobile stations, 11 first-level doctoral programs and 44 first-level master’s programs, among which are 3 state key disciplines. YZU’s overall competence as well as 4 disciplines, namely, Chemistry, Plant and Animal Sciences, Engineering, and Agricultural Sciences, has entered ESI top 1% among worldwide universities and scientific research institutions. YZU’s 8 campuses has a land area of about 4,090 mu (or some 267 hectares) with a gross floor area of about 1.17 million ㎡. YZU attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges, and it has set up close cooperation and exchange relations with over 220 higher education institutions and research institutes in over 40 countries and regions.
For more than two decades since its merger, YZU has witnessed its reform and further development through a path of combining, merging, restructuring and self-improving. In the 13th Five-Year Plan period, YZU will continue to enhance its teaching, research and reform, promote law-based governance and strive to become a top-ranking comprehensive research university in China with worldwide recognition and its own distinctive features.
Show lessThe apartment building for international students is located in Wen-Hui Road Campus of Yangzhou University, the largest and the most colorful of the 8 campuses of YZU. This campus is also the most valuable campus of YZU because of the national and provincial key laboratories in it. The beauty of this campus starts with two lines of well-pollard and preserved phoenix trees at the entrance path. And you can find almost 80% of Chinese plant and grass species on this campus. They offer single, double, and triple rooms for international students.

The minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is 25.
English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.
Minimum education level: High School.

Application process:

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.
Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification
After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.
The university may contact you directly for further questions.
We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.
After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.
Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
