📚About the Program

Non-degree in Chinese Language Private Course at Beijing International Chinese College (BICC)

Program Overview:

  • Private classes are for the students who have special requirements or a flexible schedule.
  • The student arranges with the teacher what he/she wants to focus on or improve and the teacher will prepare the class according to that.
  • The One-on-One class can be held either in the morning, afternoon or evening, during the week or on weekends, at BICC's campus or at student's home.
  • Students can choose the teaching format of either 10 lessons per week or 20 lessons per week.
  • The duration of the class: 50 minutes/lesson. At least 2 lessons per time.
  • If the student wants a student visa, he/she should at least take 20 lessons per week

Study Options:

The BICC One-on-One Private Course is available for Regular Chinese, Business Chinese, and HSK Preparation. Kindly message us for the Private course that you will choose.

1) Private Regular Chinese

The student arranges with the teacher what he/she wants to focus on or improve regarding Chinese Language and the teacher will prepare the class according to that.

2) Private Business Chinese

Suitable for students with the goal of having business in China or to communicate with their Chinese colleagues.

Classes are one-on-one, but we can also organize group class if there are 2 students or more.

BICC's teachers assess their students before taking the class to check their level. Generally, the student needs to have at least an intermediate level in Chinese (around HSK4) to take this class.

BICC uses the "Chinese for Managers" book, but if you have specific materials, please let them know.

3) Private HSK Preparation

Suitable for students who are preparing to take their HSK test in China.

In this class, the teacher focuses on HSK vocabulary and grammar. After this course, the student will be well-prepared to pass the exam.

The Process:

  • Students will come to BICC to have an assessment with the teacher.
  • The teacher decides what level is suitable for the students.
  • Students will arrange with the admission office staff the length of the course and the course's schedule.
  • Students prepare the documents required and pay the tuition fee.
  • Students start the class.

Course Fees:

Private courses start from 1 week up to 1-year duration. The more lessons the students choose during registration, the lower the price per lesson they need to pay. Kindly message us for the number of lessons you will choose, and if you would like a 10-lesson per week or a 20-lesson per week format.

Chinese Language Private Course

Schedule:

The students can take classes starting from one week up to one year, there is no fixed schedule.

Private classes take about 50 minutes per lesson, and you can choose morning, afternoon, or evening.

Classes are highly flexible and students can choose during the week or weekend classes.

Furthermore, BICC closely cooperated with Beijing Language and Culture University, Huazhong Normal University, Fangcaodi International Primary School, Beijing No. 80 Middle School, and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. At the same time, BICC also cooperates with many schools, educational institutions and established enterprises in America, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand, and Korea. BICC is rapidly developing into a high-level Chinese learning and teaching base with distinguishing features.

The school is headed by Honorary President Xu Jialu and President Geng Xuechao. Honorary President Xu Jialu is the former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, a well-known Chinese language and literature expert, and the current president of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. President Geng Xuechao is the former director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the vice president of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, the president of the Beijing Association of Higher Education, and the director-general of the Beijing Association of Non-government Education.

BICC MaiZiDian branch has normal classrooms for group classes, private classrooms for one on one lessons, cultural activity rooms to facilitate the different cultural activities like paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy, mahjong, etc, a library/reading room and a break room with a computer where students can have coffee/tea. To achieve effective teaching results, most of the classrooms are set up with multi-media equipment and the Internet. All of the classrooms are well-decorated with a combination of Chinese and Western culture to ensure the students a good study environment and experience at BICC.

  • Maquanying Campus

Located at International Art and Culture Enterprise Zone, Maquanying is BICC main campus.

The campus is equipped with:
• Multimedia classrooms, multi-purpose amphitheater, reading room, cafe, gym, and indoor sports hall. 
• The dormitory is 1 minute from the campus.

  • Sanlitun Campus

BICC's Sanlitun campus was opened in 2010. It is located in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District (CBD). This campus is only 5 minutes walk from Hujialou subway station exit E on line 10.

BICC Sanlitun branch has normal classrooms for group classes, private classrooms for one on one lessons, cultural activity rooms to facilitate the different cultural activities like paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy, mahjong, etc, a break room where students can have coffee/tea. Their Sanlitun Branch also offers a free pass to the wellness center (fitness room, sauna, and pool) 10 minutes from the school campus.

Accommodation

1) Homestay in Beijing

Host families are familiar with taking adult students, so you will have the freedom to come and go as you choose. Most importantly, you will feel welcome in the family home and practice Chinese throughout your stay. Chinese Homestay is the best option for accommodation.  

The average travel time to and from school is 20 minutes. You can purchase a travel pass for the bus & train. You will receive information about this on your first day of school.

During your Homestay in Beijing, the family will provide half board accommodation i.e. breakfast and evening meals on the weekdays and full board on weekends. If you have any special dietary requirements, you should inform us of this before you arrive so we can select the most suitable family for you.

You will have your own single bedroom. The family will provide a fresh set of towels each week and change the bed linen once per week. The family will also include your basic laundry items, such as jeans, tee-shirts, etc. once per week.

You will be advised of your Chinese Homestay address and details before your arrival in Beijing. You can arrive on either a Saturday or Sunday and Depart also on a Saturday or Sunday. Check with us first, should you wish to arrive on a weekday. 

2) Maquanying Dormitory

MaQuanYing dormitory is located just in front of their MaQuanYing campus, very convenient for the students to get to class.

The dormitory has:

- 81 rooms (single & double) well-equipped with bed, TV, desk, wardrobe, air conditioner, and furnished bathroom.

- Dining-room.

- Hall with tables and chairs so the students can meet and talk together.

Please note that the distance from the Maquanying dormitory to the Sanlitun campus is around 1 hour by subway.

💸 Living Expenses in Beijing

Expense Average costs
Accommodation On average, a single room student dormitory accommodation will cost about RMB 1500 per month, or about RMB 18,000 per year, including utilities.
Food A meal at the university canteen/restaurant or in a fast-food restaurant outside would cost about RMB 7 to RMB 30. The average monthly bill for students that will study in Beijing, China can be between the range of RMB 1800 to RMB 4000.
Transportation A one-way local transport ticket in Beijing costs about RMB 4. The taxi start rate costs about RMB 13, plus the additional taxi rate per kilometer of about RMB 2.30. A monthly transport pass for university students in Beijing would cost around RMB 200.
Extra costs: Some extra costs for university students who will study in Beijing, China are books and study materials around RMB 210 to RMB 350 per month (increased costs for those studying Sciences, Medicine, or Art), and medical insurance of about RMB 400 per six months.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
