Non-degree in Long-term Chinese Language Program at Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College (BLCC)

The Chinese Language Program at BLCC is a 1-semester/1-year program that teaches you how to speak, write and use Chinese in your everyday life.
Intended for students who want to learn Chinese comprehensively. In 1-4 semesters, through systematic courses on Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing, students could raise their Chinese to different levels. Upon graduation, students will receive a certificate given by BLCC.

Program Overview:

  • Divided into primary, intermediate, advanced classes.
  • To learn Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translating systematically.
  • After 1-3 academic years, to enable students to master the vocabulary and the grammar points, to meet needs in daily life and work.
  • Elective courses in painting, calligraphy, martial arts, traditional Chinese music, etc. available.
  • A study tour in Beijing every two weeks, and a study tour in China each semester available.

📖Program Curriculum

Elementary Class

Intensive Reading in Chinese, Extensive Reading in Chinese, Chinese Speaking and Listening Comprehension, Writing of Chinese Characters.

Students will master 2,410 common Chinese words and 185 basic Chinese grammar items. Students will carry on simple conversations, reading, and writing in Chinese.

Intermediate Class

Modern Chinese, intermediate Chinese Speaking and Listening Comprehension, Extensive Reading, Commercial Chinese, Chinese Composition, Reading of Selected Newspaper and Maga-zine Articles.

Students will master 2,850 Chinese words and 80 Chinese grammar items of intermediate level. Students have basic communication ability and may use Chinese in their routine study and life.

Advanced Class

Modern Chinese, Advanced Chinese Composition, Reading of Selected Newspaper and Magazine Articles, Advanced Cultural Knowledge. Advanced Commercial Chinese, Chinese Grammar.

Students will master about 2,800 Chinese words and about 100 Chinese grammar items of advanced level. Students will have higher communication abilities and a better understanding of Chinese culture.

Specialized courses

Chinese Painting, Chinese calligraphy, Wu Shu (Chinese Martial Arts), Chinese Music and Dance, Chinese Language Computer Programs, HSK classes, etc.
To learn Chinese culture and understand the spirit of Chinese history.

Founded in 1950, Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College (BLCC) is directly under the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the only college that specialized in the education of Chinese language and culture in China. It encompasses two campuses: the Fuchengmen campus is situated in downtown Beijing and the Huilongguan campus in the Changping district of the city. Campus

The college has two campuses. Fuchengmen campus is located in central Beijing, just 5 km from Tiananmen Square. Huilongguan campus is located in Changping District of Beijing, covering a total area of nearly 15 hectares. The two campuses can accommodate a total of about 2,000 students. BLCC has advanced and full-featured facilities, beautiful campuses, and efficient transportation, and provides convenient, comfortable, and considerate conditions for all the students.

BLCC offers various optional courses including intensive vocabulary, business Chinese, declamation of Chinese, selected Chinese classics, TV Chinese, contemporary China, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, seal cutting, flute playing, martial arts, dancing, basketball, football and badminton etc.

Regular Study Tours

Students will have a study tour in Beijing every two weeks to visit scenic spots and historical sites including the Imperial Palace, Great Wall and Summer Palace etc.And they will have a study tour in China each semester to visit famous scenic spots in Mid-China, Eastern China, Central China or Northeastern China etc.

Colorful Student Activities

BLCC organizes colorful student activities each semester including academic activities like Pinyin contest, vocabulary competition, speech contest and composition show etc. and recreational and sports activities like mid-autumn party, Christmas party, photography competition, Chinese karaoke, rope skipping, tug of war and table tennis etc.

💸 Living Expenses in Beijing

Expense Average costs
Accommodation On average, a single room student dormitory accommodation will cost about RMB 1500 per month, or about RMB 18,000 per year, including utilities.
Food A meal at the university canteen/restaurant or in a fast-food restaurant outside would cost about RMB 7 to RMB 30. The average monthly bill for students that will study in Beijing, China can be between the range of RMB 1800 to RMB 4000.
Transportation A one-way local transport ticket in Beijing costs about RMB 4. The taxi start rate costs about RMB 13, plus the additional taxi rate per kilometer of about RMB 2.30. A monthly transport pass for university students in Beijing would cost around RMB 200.
Extra costs: Some extra costs for university students who will study in Beijing, China are books and study materials around RMB 210 to RMB 350 per month (increased costs for those studying Sciences, Medicine, or Art), and medical insurance of about RMB 400 per six months.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
