Non-degree in Chinese Training Programs at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE)
NOTE: Only applicants who currently reside in Mainland China are allowed to apply for this program. Applicants should hold a valid Chinese visa which can be converted into an X visa in mainland China. The current visa should not be expired within the future 3 weeks
In our regular Chinese program, the winter semester usually starts at the beginning of September and ends at the beginning of January, while the summer semester usually from early March to late June. A short-term program is often available during summer vacation.
There are 16 teaching weeks in each semester, with 20+ class hours (Chinese classes plus selective courses) each week. Chinese classes are in the mornings from Monday to Friday, and the selective courses & free 1-on-1 tutoring (selected candidates from Chinese students) are in the afternoons. Depending on students’ demands every semester, selective courses usually include China economy lectures and various cultural classes.
“New Practical Chinese Reader”, “Chinese Tutorial” and “Developing Chinese” (published by Beijing Language and Culture University) are mainly used as textbooks, together with supportive textbooks like “General Information of China” and “Elementary Business Chinese Dialogue” as well as our own teaching materials.

The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) is a top university specialized in finance, economics, and business. It is known for its entrepreurial character and unremitting endeavours to address the needs of the people and society through academics, research, and influence on alumni, drawn from the legacy of its founders and generations of excellent alumni. SWUFE is located in Chengdu, the engine-city for the development of Western China and the fourth-largest aviation hub in China. The university has 28 schools, colleges, and institutes with 35 undergraduate majors. SWUFE has approximately 21,140 students of which are 14,700 registered full-time undergraduate students. SWUFE is one of the earliest universities to offers graduate programs following the education reforms in the 1970s. The university has around 8,000 graduate students, of which there are roundabout 5,700 Master degree candidates and 740 doctoral degree candidates. Preparing documents:
You can start your application now and send the application documents during your application. Some documents you can send later if you don’t have them right away. Some more info about preparing application documents is here
Application process:
Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.
The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.
Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification
After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.
The university may contact you directly for further questions.
We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.
After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.
Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
