🏫About Northeast Normal University (NENU)

Introduction

Northeast Normal University, or NENU, is an institution of higher learning under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education, being selected as one of the universities given priority in construction of the211 Project. NENU is situated in Changchun City—the beautiful Spring City of northern China—with the main campus locatedin the Renmin Street, covering 730,000 square meters and the Jingyue campus located in the picturesque Jingyuetan Tourism Development Zone, occupying 940,000 square meters.

NENU's predecessor is Northeast University. It was the first comprehensive university founded by the Communist Party in Northeast China in 1946 and located in Changchun City in 1949. The university was renamed Northeast Normal University in 1950 according to the needs of national education development. Zhang Xuesi, vice president of the Northeast Administrative Council and brother of General Zhang Xueliang, was the first president of NENU. Zhang Ruxin, Cheng Fangwu, Ding Haochuan and other famous educators had in turn taken the leading position in NENU. The current Party’s Secretary is Professor Yang Xiaohui and the President is Professor Liu Yichun.

There were 25,218 full-time students in NENU, including 14,719 undergraduates, 9,864 M.A. and Ph. D students. This includes 635 foreign students.

🏠 Accommodation

International students can choose to live in Foreign Student Apartment of NENU or Shixun Building, where have some public facilities such as café and supermarket. The room is equipped with independent bathroom, air-conditioner, etc.

International Student Apartment has both single rooms and double rooms with independent bathrooms. Each floor is equipped with public kitchen and washing room. Water heater, air-conditioner, TV, mattress, bed, night table, cupboard, writing desk and chair are provided in each room. Wi-Fi is fully covered in the building. There are also reading rooms for daily study and communication.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
