The enrollment object of this program is international students who have completed their high school learning tasks, plan to study Chinese teaching undergraduate programs in China, and need to accept “Bridge Courses” of science and technology, medicine and economy and trade in the Pre-University education stage. The teaching goal of “Bridge Courses” is to help international students basically realize the connection between their own high school courses and Chinese undergraduate programs.
Tongji University is one of the first universities to undertake the Pre-University education of Chinese government scholarship undergraduate students in China from 2010, and at the same time recruit self-funded preparatory students. Located in Siping Road Campus of Tongji University, the Pre-University department for foreign students of Tongji University, Ministry of education, has a teaching building with Chinese traditional architectural characteristics, modern teaching facilities such as multimedia classroom, special classroom, lecture hall, electronic reading room, Chinese culture classroom, and a team of full-time teachers of Chinese, physics, mathematics, and chemistry. All the teachers have a graduate degree or above, and the teachers are strong enough to fully meet the needs of Pre-University education.
At present, the Pre-University Department has nearly 80 countries of Chinese government scholarship undergraduate preparatory students and some self-sponsored students in school. They will systematically study general Chinese, professional Chinese, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and other basic courses, and participate in various forms of school activities, such as language and culture activities around teaching, Experience of China activities, etc.
As one of the most famous universities in China, Tongji University’s international student Pre-University “Bridge Courses” is connected with China's famous universities. According to the characteristics of international students, the preparatory course “Bridge Courses” helps students quickly master the learning methods of China’s famous universities, adapt to the undergraduate learning life in advance, shorten the adaptation period of studying abroad, and finally smoothly enter the dream university suitable for themselves to study undergraduate major.
After completing the Pre-University program, our school will also provide students with a more comprehensive and targeted enrollment information service platform, provide students with one-to-one enrollment consulting services, and help students better plan further learning. Students who have completed the required courses and passed the complete examination will obtain the preparatory completion certificate issued by Tongji University, and give priority to Tongji undergraduates.
Among the students who have successfully graduated from the Tongji Pre-University program, some continue to study in China, some start their own businesses, and some work in enterprises or international organizations.
Tuition Fees:
- RMB 14500/semester for fall semester; RMB 19350/semester for the spring semester
Curriculum:
The preparatory course is divided into two semesters: 18 weeks in the first semester (Autumn) and 18 weeks in the second semester (spring). According to students' Chinese level, they are divided into four levels: A, B, C, and D; It is divided into compulsory and elective courses according to students' professional needs and native languages.
