📚About the Program

Non-degree in Intensive Chinese Group Course at Beijing International Chinese College (BICC)

Overview:

Learn the Chinese language with BICC's intensive program to improve your level quickly! BICC's Intensive Chinese Course is composed of morning group classes and additional private classes in the afternoon.

Program Breakdown:

  • In the morning: 4 (group) Classes are held in the morning with four sessions per day and twenty sessions per week. The first two lessons of each day are focused on Comprehensive Chinese (speaking, writing, reading, listening), while the next two lessons are focused on Spoken Chinese. At the completion of each course, students will take an exam to evaluate their progress and determine whether they are ready to move on to the next level.
  • Morning group classes take 45 minutes per lesson from 9 am to 12:20 pm.
  • In the afternoon: 2 private classes per day are held in the afternoon and 10 per week, the teacher arrange the class according to the need of the student.

  • Afternoon private classes take 2 lessons each day / 50 minutes per lesson.

Learn Chinese in Beijing - Course Features: 

30 lessons per week

Course Levels:

  • Level 1: Beginners (students who have not learned Chinese before)
  • Level 2: Students who have mastered simple Chinese sentence patterns and possess a vocabulary of 800 Chinese words.
  • Level 3: Students who have a basic listening and speaking ability in Chinese, mastered general and complex sentence patterns, and possess a vocabulary of 1500 Chinese words.
  • Level 4: Students who have a general listening and speaking ability in Chinese, mastered general knowledge of Chinese grammar and possess a vocabulary of 2500 Chinese words.
  • Level 5: Students who have a good listening and speaking ability, mastered general knowledge of Chinese grammar and possess a vocabulary of 3500 Chinese words.

The Process:

  • Students come to BICC for the assessment with their teachers.
  • The teacher then decides what level is suitable for the students.
  • Students will arrange with the admission office staff the length of the course and the course's schedule.
  • Students will prepare the documents required and pay the tuition fee.
  • Students will start their class after all of the above.

    If you prefer other books, you tell us and we will prepare them for you!

Course Price per Lesson:

The students can take classes from one week to one year, there is no fixed schedule. The more lessons the students choose during registration, the lower the price per lessons needed. Kindly message us for the number of lessons you will choose.

Since the beginning, BICC has enrolled thousands of international students and organized many important projects for the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Chinese Language Office, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. These programs include the Seminar on Chinese for Government Officials from Developing Countries, the Seminar on Chinese Culture for Government Officials from Developing Countries, training programs for Chinese teachers from abroad, HSK, YCT, BCT exams, A-PLUS training programs for Chinese teachers, training programs for Chinese language teachers/volunteers working overseas, and the Chinese Culture Festival for International Students in Beijing.

BICC is rapidly developing into a high-level Chinese learning and teaching base with distinguishing features.

The school is headed by Honorary President Xu Jialu and President Geng Xuechao. Honorary President Xu Jialu is the former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, a well-known Chinese language and literature expert, and the current president of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. President Geng Xuechao is the former director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the vice president of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, the president of the Beijing Association of Higher Education, and the director-general of the Beijing Association of Non-government Education.

To achieve effective teaching results, most of the classrooms are set up with multi-media equipment and the Internet.   • Maquanying Campus

Located at International Art and Culture Enterprise Zone, Maquanying is BICC main campus.

The campus is equipped with:

• The dormitory is 1 minute from the campus.

  • Sanlitun Campus

BICC's Sanlitun campus was opened in 2010. It is located in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District (CBD). This campus is only 5 minutes walk from Hujialou subway station exit E on line 10.

Accommodation

1) Homestay in Beijing

Host families are familiar with taking adult students, so you will have the freedom to come and go as you choose. Most importantly, you will feel welcome in the family home and practice Chinese throughout your stay. Chinese Homestay is the best option for accommodation.  

The average travel time to and from school is 20 minutes. You can purchase a travel pass for the bus & train. You will receive information about this on your first day of school.

During your Homestay in Beijing, the family will provide half board accommodation i.e. breakfast and evening meals on the weekdays and full board on weekends. If you have any special dietary requirements, you should inform us of this before you arrive so we can select the most suitable family for you.

You will have your own single bedroom. The family will provide a fresh set of towels each week and change the bed linen once per week. The family will also include your basic laundry items, such as jeans, tee-shirts, etc. once per week.

You will be advised of your Chinese Homestay address and details before your arrival in Beijing. You can arrive on either a Saturday or Sunday and Depart also on a Saturday or Sunday. Check with us first, should you wish to arrive on a weekday. 

2) Maquanying Dormitory

MaQuanYing dormitory is located just in front of their MaQuanYing campus, very convenient for the students to get to class.

The dormitory has:

- 81 rooms (single & double) well-equipped with bed, TV, desk, wardrobe, air conditioner, and furnished bathroom.

- Dining-room.

- Hall with tables and chairs so the students can meet and talk together.

Please note that the distance from the Maquanying dormitory to the Sanlitun campus is around 1 hour by subway.

💸 Living Expenses in Beijing

Expense Average costs
Accommodation On average, a single room student dormitory accommodation will cost about RMB 1500 per month, or about RMB 18,000 per year, including utilities.
Food A meal at the university canteen/restaurant or in a fast-food restaurant outside would cost about RMB 7 to RMB 30. The average monthly bill for students that will study in Beijing, China can be between the range of RMB 1800 to RMB 4000.
Transportation A one-way local transport ticket in Beijing costs about RMB 4. The taxi start rate costs about RMB 13, plus the additional taxi rate per kilometer of about RMB 2.30. A monthly transport pass for university students in Beijing would cost around RMB 200.
Extra costs: Some extra costs for university students who will study in Beijing, China are books and study materials around RMB 210 to RMB 350 per month (increased costs for those studying Sciences, Medicine, or Art), and medical insurance of about RMB 400 per six months.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
