What the Scholarship Includes

The AUN Program provides a full scholarship that covers tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance.

A full scholarship recipient will be awarded from RMB 74200 - RMB 99800, depending on the category.

This scholarship supports master’s students for no more than 3 academic years or doctoral students for no more than 4 academic years. It covers major studies and Chinese language studies.

Who is the scholarship for?

This scholarship only supports Master’s program students for no more than 3 academic years or Doctoral program students for no more than 4 academic years.

All candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be a citizen of an ASEAN member country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), and be in good health.

2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

    be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s programs;

    be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs.

The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language/preparatory study for graduate students, as specified in the Admission Lettersuch as science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, legal studies, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts for scholarship recipients at all levels. More info about the programs here.

🏫 About China Scholarship Council

The China Scholarship Council was established in 1996 and is a non-profit corporate institution directly under the Ministry of Education.

China Scholarship Council, entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.

Now, 289 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, legal studies, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts for scholarship recipients at all levels.

Entry Requirements

The minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is 40.

Min Chinese Level (HSK): None

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate (You can take the English test online here) such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL is an advantage. You can take the English test online here

Minimum education level: Bachelor's.

📬 Admissions Process

Step 1 - Apply to the AUN Secretariat for the CGS opportunity.  

Step 2 - Apply to your target university for the Pre-admission Letter once recommended by the dispatching authorities as an eligible candidate.

Step 3 - Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for International Students (Visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org and click “Application Online” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, and print a hard copy. Please consult the AUN Secretariat for Instructions of CGS Information Management System for International Students and Agency Number.

Step 4 - Submit all your application documents to the AUN Secretariat before the deadline.

NOTE

Only applications of recommended candidates from the AUN Secretariat will be considered. No other applications or individual application directly sent to CSC will be considered. Candidates holding the Pre-admission Letter will be placed in the host university; those without the Pre-admission Letter should accept CSC’s placement of university.
