📖Scholarship Introduction

MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program is set up by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China to further strengthen the communication and cooperation between China and other countries as well as to develop talents for developing countries. Starting from 2015, MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program mainly sponsors the young and the middle-aged talents from recipient countries to pursue their postgraduate degree education in China. China Scholarship Council is entrusted to administer the Scholarship.

📖Scholarship Details

What the Scholarship Includes

The MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program provides a full scholarship of tuition fee, teaching material fee, research and survey fee, allowance of English-taught program, dissertation guidance fee, on-campus accommodation, monthly stipend (36000RMB per year per master student; 42000RMB per year per Ph.D. student), one-off resettlement fee of 3000 RMB per person, free medical insurance for international students, and one-time round-trip international airfare for all the students.

Who is the scholarship for?

This program supports Masters and Doctoral students.

All candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:

To be eligible, applicants must:


  • be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic ofChina, and be in good health;

  • be a bachelor’s degree holder when applying for master’s program;

  • be a master’s degree holder when applying for the doctoral program;

  • be under the age of 45 when applying;

  • have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the academic requirements of the program.

HUST has been designated as one of 26 universities to accept scholarship students in the following 11 programs:

3. MA / Ph.D. Program of Geotechnical Engineering/ Structural Engineering

4. MA / Ph.D. Program of Enterprise Management/ Management Science and Engineering

5. MA / Ph.D. Program of International Trade

6. Master Program of New Energy Science and Engineering

7. Ph.D. Program of Electrical Engineering

8. MA / Ph.D. Program of Information and Communication Engineering

9. MA / Ph.D. Materials Science/Materials Processing Engineering

🏫 About China Scholarship Council

The China Scholarship Council was established in 1996 and is a non-profit corporate institution directly under the Ministry of Education.

China Scholarship Council, entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.

Now, 289 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, legal studies, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts for scholarship recipients at all levels.

Entry Requirements

The minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is 45.

Min Chinese Level (HSK): None

English fluency is required.

Minimum education level: Bachelor's.

📬 Admissions Process

Please carefully read the instructions before applying for the scholarship.

Step 1: Visit “CSC Study in China” website and click “Scholarship Application for Students” at http://www.campuschina.org

Register an account through [CREATE AN ACCOUNT] and login with your account.

Step 2Input Personal Details. Click “Edit Personal Details” and finish inputting personal details by filling in all the information, verifying, and saving the information. After the completion of this section, return to the previous page by clicking “Finish” and start filling in your application information.

Step 3Select the correct “Program Category”.

Please select Program Category “Type A”. (Only for applicants of MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program)

Step 4: Input the correct Agency Number.

Your Agency Number is 00010. (Only for applicants of MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program)

Program Category and Agency Number are directly matched, both are mandatory for online application. Scholarship receiving authorities (or application processing authorities) will inform the program category and agency number to candidates who are qualified for applying.

After inputting the agency number, the matched agency name will automatically show on the page. As Program Category and Agency Number are directly matched, application processing authorities will not receive your online application if the program category or agency number is not correct.

Step 5: Input Application Information

Next, please move on to the section of “Language Proficiency and Study Plan” and upload “Supporting Documents” as requested, then click “Submit” to complete the application. Check each part of your application carefully before submission. Please make sure that all the information and uploaded documents are valid and accurate.

When applicants of the “Type A” application choose the “Preferences of Institutes”, the system will automatically match the available universities according to the selected “Student Category, Preferred teaching language and Major Applying for”. For any inquiry concerning the available majors of each university, please visit the following website. http://www.campuschina.org/universities/index.html

“Catalog of Discipline Field, First-level Discipline, Specialty” is available from the “Help”, applicants could download the file to identify the relation between Discipline and Major.

Step 6Once submitted, an amendment cannot be made on “Personal Details” and “Application Information”. Before the application being processed by the processing authorities, the applicant can revoke the submitted application by clicking “Withdraw” and edit the application. After revoking the application, the applicant must submit a second time after re-editing, or the application will not be processed. Once the application is processed, the application cannot be revoked.

Step 7: Click” Print the Application Form” and download the form.

Step 8: Submit scholarship application under the requirements of the dispatching authorities (or application processing agency)

China Scholarship Council never entrusts any individual or intermediary agent to process Chinese government scholarship applications. Kindly remind that all applicants to directly submit their scholarship applications through official dispatching authorities, avoiding being deceived. The website below is the only official website that China Scholarship Council publishes Study in China information, please do not trust information from any other portals or sources.
