Zhengzhou University covers 12 fields of study, including science, engineering, medicine, literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, management science, pedagogy, agriculture and arts. It is among the group admitted into Project 211, the sole university in Henan supported by the Midwest Universities Comprehensive Strength Promotion Project and co-sponsored by Henan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education. The University has at present over 1,300 international students.
Zhengzhou University is people-oriented, and attaches great importance to the enhancement of students’ comprehensive qualities. It has cultivated a large number of qualified graduates, and has won many honors and titles above the provincial level in such areas as the party construction, ideology and political sciences, teaching, scientific research, medical care, management, students’ work and logistics services.
The university has its own publishing house and issues 14 academic journals. Zhengzhou University also worked with other parties and established SIAS International College and the College of Physical Education. Featured with a solid scientific research foundation, Zhengzhou University now owns more than 330 scientific research institutions of all levels/kinds.
ZZU has cultivated an active academic atmosphere and established a good mechanism for extensive exchange and cooperation. It has developed a sound cooperative relationship with more than 20 famous universities and academic institutions including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and those in Hong Kong and Taiwan. It has also established intercollegiate cooperative relationship with nearly 170 universities from more than 40 countries, mainly the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Russia, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Finland, Ukraine, etc.
ZZU aims to be a first-class university in China, being internationally well-known and regionally exemplary as well in the middle of this century and further contributes to the building of an overall well-off society and the rise of central China.
About The School of International Education (SIE)
The School of International Education (SIE) is in charge every aspects of international students of Zhengzhou University. The School of International Education offers both degree and non-degree programs for overseas students. Degree programs cover all bachelor, master, and doctor degrees offered in the University, while non-degree programs provide overseas students with various training. There are approximately 1,300 overseas students from 60 countries or areas in SIE; among them over 80% are degree students. The graduates of SIE have made important contributions to the development of their home countries.
The School of International Education has carried out in-depth exchange and cooperation with world renowned institutions in various aspects; it will further strengthen its cooperation with overseas educational institutions by establishing vigorous platforms for future achievements.

Zhengzhou lies in the central part of China and on the southern bank of the Yellow River. It is the capital of the most populous province Henan, and one of the Eight Great Ancient Capitals of China. With 9 million inhabitants, it is the second largest city in central China. Zhengzhou experiences a monsoon-influenced, four-season humid subtropical climate, with cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. Spring and autumn are dry and somewhat abbreviated transition periods. The city has an annual average temperature of at 14.4 °C (57.9 °F), with monthly daily mean temperatures ranging from 0.1 °C (32.2 °F) in January to 27.0 °C (80.6 °F) in July. Diversified weather brings rich and beautiful landscapes and the abundance of wildlife.
Campus
Zhengzhou University has an abundance of resources. The University now has four main campuses (New Campus, South Campus, Technological Institute, and Medical School) occupying an area of 1070 acres, of which the New Campus comprises 799 acres.
