Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang province and borders Russia and North Korea. Harbin has transformed into a small rural village on the Songhua River to one of the biggest cities in Northeast China.
Called “the pearl on the swan’s neck” because of the shape of Heilongjiang, Harbin has dry and freezing-cold winters, which makes it an ideal winter destination. The city is famous for its annual ice festival featuring an extravaganza of giant ice sculptures.
