The history of Dalian University can be traced back to Dalian University, which was founded in April 1949 (the establishment of Dalian University was revoked in July 1950, and the Luda Branch of Dalian Institute of Technology was established in October 1978, and later became the branch of Dalian Institute of Technology. The school currently has more than 6,040 faculty members (including 2 affiliated hospitals).
