🏫 About Shanghai Institute of Visual Art (SIVA)

Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University (shorted as SIVA), launched in Sept. 2005, is a new Art & Design institute with independent legal status approved by National Ministry of Education, under Fudan University. In 2013, approved by National Ministry of Education, SIVA was updated to an independent non-governmental higher education and the official name was changed to Shanghai Institute of Visual Art. There are seven schools under the umbrella of SIVA, namely, School of Design, School of Fashion Design, School of New Media Art, School of Fine Art, School of Performing Arts, school of Cultural Creative Industrial Management and school of Basic Education. It is currently running sixteen subjects including 20 plus pathways, with a student population of above3000 infour groups. SIVA is located in the center of SongJiang University town,Shanghai, covering an area of about 67 hectares with a total design floor space of 120,000 square meters. The currently completed buildings include the complex of academic buildings and academic supporting buildings such as Learning Resources Building, Practice and Training Building, Sports Fields, Canteen Building, with a floor space of 90,000 plus square meters .

  • Make a booking online after you have been accepted (in this case please let us know your choice when you apply).
  • Register when you arrive - its not possible to reserve a room before arriving. You can arrive a few days before and book it

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
