7 Reasons for Choosing Hong Kong as a Study Destination
Why HKBU?
Library
The University Library is committed to providing quality resources and services in support of the University’s teaching, research, and learning activities. HKBU librarians engage in teaching and instruction, providing learning opportunities that students do not receive in their regular classes. These are crucial to student success in academia and in the workplace.
With the increasing importance of electronic information resources to the University’s teaching, learning, and research activities, the Library provides access to a comprehensive array of e-resources that are not freely available online. This is in addition to its substantial collections of physical materials. Currently, the Library provides access to:
Academic Community Hall
The Academic Community Hall has the seating capacity of 1,346. It is suitable for classical concerts, orchestras, musicals, variety shows, ceremonies, religious functions and seminars, it also served as the competition venue for the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Festival for decades.
Tsang Chan Sik Yue Auditorium
The Tsang Chan Sik Yue Auditorium has the seating capacity of 400 and 4 extra wheelchair spaces. It is designed as a multi-purpose venue suitable for conferences, seminars, ceremonies, film shows and small-to-medium scale performances.
Joint Sports Centre
The Joint Sports Centre, which was opened in May 1995, is funded by the University Grants Committee. It is jointly owned and managed by the three universities: the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The Centre provides various kinds of outdoor sports facilities for use by students, staff and immediate family members and alumni. The sports facilities are used for training, competition and recreational activities.
The Joint Sports Centre is located at 36 Renfrew Road Kowloon Tong, next to the Shaw Campus of the Hong Kong Baptist University. It takes about a 10-minute to walk from the Kowloon Tong or Lok Fu MTR station to the Centre. Under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs, the Student Accommodation Section endeavours to provide safe, supportive and stimulating residential communities that embrace diversity, and encourage participation, learning and independence of students. Upon completion of hall residence, students are expected to reflect the importance of citizenship in communities, reach the appropriate level of self-discipline, and understand life aspirations and career goals.
