🏫 About Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE)

The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) is a top university specialized in finance, economics, and business. It is known for its entrepreurial character and unremitting endeavours to address the needs of the people and society through academics, research, and influence on alumni, drawn from the legacy of its founders and generations of excellent alumni. SWUFE is located in Chengdu, the engine-city for the development of Western China and the fourth-largest aviation hub in China. The university has 28 schools, colleges, and institutes with 35 undergraduate majors. SWUFE has approximately 21,140 students of which are 14,700 registered full-time undergraduate students. SWUFE is one of the earliest universities to offers graduate programs following the education reforms in the 1970s. The university has around 8,000 graduate students, of which there are roundabout 5,700 Master degree candidates and 740 doctoral degree candidates. SWUFE currently has around 515 international students and 170,000+ alumni. The university employs 1355 faculty members of which are approximately 300 professors, 530 associate professors, and 310 doctor supervisors. SWUFE was the first institution authorized to grant MBA and CPA credentials in Southwestern China. It offers 4 national key second-rate disciplines and 4 post-doctoral research centers.     Boxue #2 Building is an accommodation building of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) Guanghua Campus which offers single rooms for international students. Each room has a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, independent bathroom with 24-hour hot water, TV, air-conditioner and internet access. Limited numbers of refrigerators are for rental. There are also a public kitchen and laundry room.

    Application process:

    Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

    The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

    Once submitted to China Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

    After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

    The university may contact you directly for further questions.

    We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

    After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

    Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.

    "I went to Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) basically because I had run out of other options, because I had missed the deadline for the other universities in Chengdu (Sichuan Uni, Minzu Uni). So I went and knew basically nothing about the school nor the program. I’m taking elementary Chinese classes, and the teachers are quite young, local Chinese. I do feel like I’m learning a lot each day, but some teachers are not fully aware of effective teaching methods and taking the different levels of students into an account. That being said, there’s very few people in my class which is very good for the learning environment. Chengdu is a nice city for sure. "
